Frequently asked questions

Applying for a space

Feel free to reach out to us to check our availability, schedule a visit, or ask any questions you may have. Once you express interest in joining our pre-school, we will add you to our waitlist to ensure your spot.

Alternatively, you can register your child's space here.

Once you are on the waitlist, we evaluate the available sessions based on your requests. We aim to inform you as soon as possible, typically in the month leading up to your requested start date.

Absolutely!
We invite families to visit our setting in person to explore the environment and speak with our staff. You can schedule a visit here. Additionally, we provide settling-in sessions prior to starting preschool.

Starting at Pre-School

Yes, we encourage all families to bring their child for a settling-in session with us. There is no limit to the number of sessions you can have. Each child settles in differently, so we work closely with you to arrange sessions tailored to your child's needs.

In your child's bag for their session, please include the following items: a water bottle, a healthy lunch if they are staying for lunch, and spare clothes. If your child is toilet training, we recommend packing multiple spare outfits, including socks. For children in nappies, please provide enough nappies for their session, along with wipes and cream in case it is needed.

During the winter months, your child will need a warm, waterproof coat or all-in-one suit for outdoor play, as well as spare wellies to keep at pre-school. In the summer, please provide a sun hat and factor 50+ sun cream to keep at the setting. It is essential to label all your child's belongings, as we cannot be responsible for lost items.

Both of our rooms follow similar routines. During the day, we offer free play, including in the outdoor areas. In the morning, we start the day with dancing or yoga, followed by snacks in the morning and afternoon. The under 2s also have designated rest and nap times in the afternoon.

Our toddler room is well-equipped for nap times. We provide cots for your little ones, a cosy den with twinkling lights and lullabies, as well as sleep mats. Please speak with your child's key worker for more information about nap times.

Nursery in a Box

Nursery in a Box is the system we use daily for registers, accidents, medications and messages, all to keep you informed about your child. Through your parent portal app you can also see your child's daily activities, personal care routines, progress, and regular photo updates.

To learn how to use your Parent App read here.

When you register your child, you will receive an email prompting you to provide your details. This is done through the parent portal, an app is available for download. Here, you can complete your registration forms and enter all of your child's important information.

Here, you can track your child's daily diary and monitor their personal care throughout the day. You also have the opportunity to leave comments, receive instant updates in the event of an accident, and send direct messages to the pre-school with any queries. Additionally, you can view your child's observations at the setting and upload their achievements from home.

You can stay informed about your child's "All About Me" profile, which helps the pre-school understand their daily routines, preferences, and any important information.

You can upload any photos or comments about what you've been doing at home for us to discuss during the day. Feel free to include any messages you may have forgotten to mention during handover, as well as any questions or queries you have.

Additionally, please provide your child's funding code, and use this to book their absences or request extra sessions.

Yes, we do. We are open from 8 AM to 6 PM, 52 weeks a year. We offer hourly rates, providing you with the flexibility to schedule your sessions around your lifestyle. Please note that we are unable to accommodate alternating week sessions; the sessions you book will need to remain consistent each week. However, you will have the opportunity to adjust session times at the beginning of each term.
You can request changes to your session times each term. Please note that we can only accommodate these changes if there is availability on that day. For any session requests, please message us through the Parent Portal.
We accept payments via BACS transfers. At the beginning of each month, you will receive an invoice for your hours, and we kindly ask that you pay for your sessions in advance. If you have any questions regarding your invoices, please feel free to email us your comments, and we would be happy to assist you.
